Sport
PRIMARY
Students in Primary school participate in one 50 minute Health and Physical Education lesson each week. In addition to HPE lessons, students participate in swimming lessons during Term 1 and 4, and in Terms 2 and 3 an 'intraschool' sports competition is held for students in Years 1-4 to develop skills and good sportsmanship.
Students in Years 5 and 6 have the opportunity to participate in Interschool sports competitions in Terms 2 and 3 in the fields of netball and soccer.
Heights is also very competitive in the interschool athletics and swimming carnivals held throughout the year.
Students also have the opportunity to join different 'club' sports including touch football, basketball and golf.

SECONDARY
Health and Physical Education is a compulsory subject for students in Years 7-10. PE lessons include fine and gross motor skill activities such as large ball and small ball sports, swimming, fitness and athletics. All lessons are structured to ensure correct motor skills, kinesthetic skills and good core balance.
Heights College offers Physical Education as a board subject for Senior School, which includes sports such as squash, netball, touch football and ten-pin bowling. Theory topics include skill acquisition, psychology, biomechanics, training programs and principles, energy systems and sport and media. All secondary students participate in athletics, cross country and swimming during Term 1, 2 and 3 in preparation for the carnivals and the Rockhampton and District trials.
Heights College also offers a range of sporting teams where students are able to join a team that participates in the District secondary schools competition for Rugby League, Basketball, Netball, Girls Soccer and Touch Football.
